about

This is a call to action to support the Black Lives Matter movement by getting out the vote. This is a critical time to vote in the November 3rd Presidential Election. Politicians and hate groups who fan the flames of racism and xenophobia want to further marginalize POC. Let’s put a stop to this and speak truth to power by exercising our right to vote. It’s time to elect the 46th president of the United States.

We have partnered with Pledge 46 to do our part to increase voter turnout. Pledge to vote here: bit.ly/3gUFf48

This song was a labor of love. Everyone involved put their heart and soul into this and believed in its message. We feel so much gratitude for the Black Lives Matter movement and everyone who is involved in supporting this struggle. We would like to thank all the great folks who made this music and video come to life:

Big Chief Joseph “Monk” Boudreaux for your story that inspired this song and your wisdom continues to enlighten all of us. Joseph “José” Maize Jr and Joseph Boudreaux Jr for speaking truth to power with your lyrics and vocals on the rap performance on the remix. Also Joseph Boudreaux, Jr for your epic original hand sewn Mardi Gras Indian patch artwork photographed by the amazing Zack Smith Photography. Our director, Jonathan Isaac Jackson took the lyrics and message of this song and brilliantly transformed it into a brilliant piece of visual art with Joe Gelini.

Bassy Bob Brockmann at NOLA POST, thank you for remixing this with loving musicality and guidance during a global pandemic. Thank you Zach Brien for the original studio footage documenting the recording session back in 2017. Big shoutout to Ben Ellman who produced our original version of this song that was nominated for a Grammy award. Thank you to everyone who recorded the original session: Joseph Pierre “Monk” Boudreaux, J’Wan Boudreaux, Nigel Hall, Danica Hart, Joe Gelini, Ari Teitel, Joseph “José” Maize Jr, Haruka Kikuchi, Eric Gordon, Yirmeyahu Yisreal, Cliff “Spug” Smith.

Remix production by Joe Gelini, Ari Teitel, & Aurélien Barnes. Much gratitude to Single Lock Records for their support in releasing it, and our team at Blind Ambition Management for making it all happen! Most importantly, thanks to all of our loyal fans for giving us the platform and the voice to make this statement. Let's turn these words into action this November!

(Black Lives Matter)

(Black Lives Matter)

(Black Lives Matter)

(Black Lives Matter)

(Black Lives Matter)

Visa, Visa a Mean-a Support-a
Joseph Monk Boudreaux meet Mr. Jim Crow

Visa, Visa a Mean-a Support-a
Joseph Monk Boudreaux meet Mr. Jim Crow

Every week I went to jail
Oh I had to pay the bail
What's the charge I say?

He say it's loitering without no Visa Mean-a support

Oh I know he say
If you can't pay the fine oh you must do the time

(Black Lives Matter)

(Black Lives Matter)

Ewww ewww oh
(Black Lives Matter)
Nana nah Nana Nana Nana nah nah

Visa, Visa a Mean-a Support-a
Joseph Monk Boudreaux meet Mr. Jim Crow

Visa, Visa a Mean-a Support-a
Joseph Monk Boudreaux just meet Mr. Jim Crow

Chilling in the Jects bout to hit me a lick
(No Justice, No Peace)

My Moma steady telling me she got to pay the rent

The money coming slow because
the weather is below

(No Justice, No Peace)

I'm trying to keep it right but they messing with my dough

Though stressed out
You see the hurt up in my face

(No Justice, No Peace)

Teenager sixteen about to catch me a case

I'm not the type to take it out on my own human race

But if you cross that line I'll give your ass a taste

Aaaaahhhhhhh

(No Justice, No Peace)

The situation is critical, the patients are getting minimal

(No Justice, No Peace)

Individuals want to burn the city for what them people did to you.

(No Justice, No Peace)

Tell me how could you live with you, look at yourself in the mirror

(No Justice, No Peace)

what if you was George Floyd or Tamir,

Pulling out shotguns

(No Justice, No Peace)

they holding us back, they pushing us we screaming attack,

(No Justice, No Peace)

yo knee on his neck he holding back tears

(No Justice, No Peace)

my people struggle for a lot of years but patience aint't a virtue

(No Justice, No Peace)

when kids got hunger pains and gotta miss a meal.

Yeah, you know as a kid

(No Justice, No Peace)

it made me feel so bad

Used to go to jail every weekend,

(No Justice, No Peace)

just because the color of my skin
Yeah but you know

(No Justice, No Peace)

if I didn't pay the bail, didn't pay the fine, I would have to do the time

(No Justice, No Peace)

Ah man, but now things are changing for everyone, we can be as one

(No Justice, No Peace)

because we are the same, regardless of the color of our skin

(No Justice, No Peace)

You know if I look back and look around

(No Justice, No Peace)

Yeah man, time dem brought on a change

(No Justice, No Peace)

for each and everyone

(No Justice, No Peace)

Making criminals out me as a young man
Ol' man say if you don't pay the fine oh you must do the time he say
But I know I never did nothing wrong, but I have to pay, Oh man!

Ewww ewww oh
(Black Lives Matter)
Nana nah Nana Nana nah nah
(Black Lives Matter)

Hey

No Visible Means,

(Black Lives Matter)

No Visible Means of Suport
